BYD Yangwang U8 LWB revealed

BYD's luxury sub brand, Yangwang, has revealed the long-wheelbase version of the U8 SUV at Auto Shanghai 2025, and it comes in a 6-seat configuration.

Dimensions

Cosmetic Changes

Exclusive to the U8 LWB is a two-tone black and gold colour option and a dark finish on some elements like the D-pillar and front bumper. It also misses out on the rear spare wheel that's provided on the standard model.

Cabin

Although its interior images haven't been released, it is expected to share the same dashboard layout as the standard model, although with a different cabin theme.

Unique features of U8 LWB

It gets some unique features such as tank-turn option, emergency water flotation, and a tyre blowout stability feature. It also has what BYD calls "God's Eye' ADAS.

Powertrain

BYD hasn't disclosed the powertrain details of the U8 LWB, but it's expected to have the same setup as the regular U8, which gets a range-extender electric powertrain with the on-board petrol engine used as a generator to develop electricity. It features electric motors at wach wheel giving the SUV a total output of over 1,100 bhp.
